You know that Monday morning feeling.
Or perhaps it starts on Sunday evening – that sense of unease that makes it harder to switch off and get to sleep.
It’s often a signal worth paying attention to.
Check In With Yourself
When life feels draining, it’s easy to stay busy and push through. But activity without purpose can quietly pull you further away from feeling fulfilled. If you’re noticing that sense of drain, it may be time to pause and ask:
What am I actually trying to achieve?
It might be:
- a better relationship with your children
- more connection with your partner
- greater confidence at work
What do you truly want?
From What to Why
Once you’re clear on what you want, it becomes easier to understand why.
Notice whether your reasons are:
- intrinsic (internal, such as feeling calm, fulfilled, or joyful)
- extrinsic (external, such as money, status, or approval)
Lasting fulfilment tends to come from the intrinsic. And if your goal is external, it’s worth asking: what is the deeper feeling I’m really looking for?
Finding Your Way Forward
When you’ve given yourself the space to clarify your what and why, the how often becomes much clearer.
Without that clarity, it’s easy to fall into a common pattern – being constantly busy while mistaking activity for progress. This is a very human experience. But over time, it can lead to exhaustion or burnout.
Create Space to Reset
Each day, even briefly, give yourself some restorative headspace.
What you focus on tends to grow. So being intentional with your focus can make a meaningful difference to how you feel and how you move forward. Like physical exercise, this is something that benefits from regular practice. When you stop, the effects begin to fade.
How Hypnotherapy Can Help
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy supports people in creating that space – helping to calm the mind, reduce overwhelm, and reconnect with what really matters.
Many of the people I work with come to me feeling busy but unfulfilled, unsure of their direction or disconnected from what they truly want.
With the right support, that can begin to shift surprisingly quickly.
